Wednesday Photo Roundup 10/20/10
Good day!
This is a little late. Oh well.
Let’s start with another set of amazing photos by Bob Jones. The band here is Aux Arc. Don’t miss them at Hangfire on Friday.
Alana Lombardi captured a bit of Greek culture for everyone…
Stephanie Augello followed Venice is Sinking around on Saturday. She had this to say:
This past Saturday, SCAD Radio presented its annual Record Fair. According to student and SCAD Radio comrade Jacob Tatom, the event, which was held at The River Club, welcomed over 750 attendees. The location was flooded with music from a multitude of genres, which included older releases, as well as those from contemporary bands. Tatom’s gold record dream of the day was a Velvet Underground & Nico LP with a half torn-off banana sticker cover. This awesome piece of rock n’ roll history cost $75. Jacob is an art student. Needless to say, owning it remained a dream.
However, being a part of an energetic live performance was not. The affair culminated with a concert put on by The Eastern Sea and Venice is Sinking, and came to its final conclusion with Venice’s swaying crowd-pleaser Bardstown Road.
Ladies and gentlemen, the night had only just begun. Immediately following their performance at The River Club, Venice is Sinking headed over to SCAD photography student Derek Scearce’s house to contribute to our growing underground alongside General Oglethorpe & the Panhandlers. The place was packed, and it was pretty evident that Derek’s guests thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship of the evening.
So, when does one deem such an eventful day over? When the band stops playing? When the cops show up? How about when the band stops playing, and then the cops show up 5 minutes later. Even they knew better than to break up the good times

I’m still bummed I missed the Venice is Sinking show.
